Unity of Michiana
We welcome you to Unity of Michiana. We are a diverse and inclusive spiritual community offering a positive path to spiritual living. Diversity includes important and interrelated dimensions of human identity such as race, ethnicity, gender, socio-economic status, nationality, citizenship, religion, sexual orientation, ability, and age. Unity is open and welcoming of all individuals regardless of race, color, gender, age, creed, religion, national origin, ethnicity, physical disability or sexual orientation.
It is our sincere desire to share the spiritual journey with others of like mind. We invite you to learn and practice the universal principles taught by Unity, and to experience the life changing results such practice can bring.
Unity of Michiana offers an inspiring Spiritual Message and uplifting music for its Sunday Services. You may attend in person at 10am or via our Livestream to Facebook (fb.com/Unitysb).
Our Services are also archived and available on our website. We offer youth programs, prayer assistance, special services such as weddings and memorial services, spiritual counseling, and adult spirituality classes and workshops.

About Unity
Unity is a positive, practical, progressive approach to personal Spirituality. It is based on the Universal Truth Teachings Jesus Christ exemplified & taught throughout his life, and the power of prayerful, focused intention/mindfulness. Unity honors the universal truths found in all religions and respects each individual’s right to choose a spiritual path. Unity’s teachings are spiritual in nature rather than focused on a creed, dogma or religiosity.
Our Teachings
Unity teaches that each person is a unique expression of God created with sacred worth. Living from that awareness transforms our lives and the world. Unity does not look at God/Divine Creator/Universal Beingness as an anthropomorphic “Super Person” somewhere outside ourselves, but rather as the Creative Life Force within each of us and all existence, the Life Breath of all that is…ever becoming and ever expressing.
Unity emphasizes the creative power of thought in our life experience. We refer to this as the Law of Mind Action. When we take personal responsibility to choose life-affirming thoughts, words and actions, we experience a more fulfilling and abundant life. Unity emphasizes the importance of applying spiritual principles in our daily lives, and recognizes that we continue to evolve as we identify, embrace and apply spiritual insights and the spiritual implications of new discoveries.
Spiritual Social Action
In Unity, we feel a sacred responsibility, individually and collectively, to make a positive difference through personal example and active service in our spiritual centers, our communities, and our world.
Affirmative Prayer…Meditation…Mindfulness
Affirmative prayer and mindful focus is the highest form of creative thought. It includes the release of counterproductive, negative thoughts, as well as holding in mind statements of spiritual truth. Through meditation and mindfulness practices, we experience the presence of God within us, as us, and all around us. Prayer, meditation and mindfulness heighten our awareness and thereby transform our lives.
